Packed with new features, we are delighted to announce that the latest firmware for our X3 media player is now available.
Available as an OTA (Over The Air) update, firmware version X3.2.2.123 contains many significant enhancements, including the addition of both the Netflix and Emby APKs into the ‘must-have’ apps folder. We have been asked for the official addition of Netflix by many of you, so this will be welcome news. Please be aware that to navigate Netflix once set up on the X3, you will have to utilise the Magic Mouse feature of the RC-05 remote control.
If you haven’t seen it already, the update should appear as a pop up the next time you turn on your X3, assuming the device is connected to the internet. If not, go to ‘System Setting/System Update/Network
For more details, check out our video on how to update your X3 to the latest firmware, install and set up the Netflix APK and how to navigate it on-screen:
As an extra bonus, we have also added our official APK customisation of the EMBY media server. A new application for some of you, EMBY is a media server service that enables you to customise your collections and access in a very similar way as our dp Player via FunPlay UI, whilst utilising all of the video technology within the device. This is particularly useful for those that keep a lot of home movies and would like to access them using a poster wall in the same way as our dp Movie Player. You can check out more about EMBY here.
