We are delighted to announce the launch of the latest DMP-A1 firmware.  Probably the most significant update since the product was launched, this update features a complete rebuild of the Tidal APK for total integration, with Spotify and Qobuz APKs also receiving significant updates.  Also included are updates to the dp Music Player, the addition of a Favourites button, portrait screen mirroring and much, much more.

We strongly advise that you update your DMP-A1 as soon as possible, so that you can enjoy all of the benefits of the new firmware.  For total peace of mind, we also suggest that once the firmware has been updated, you perform a full factory reset.  This is because we have found a couple of apps that will benefit from a reset before they are totally compatible.

For reference, below are some of the updates you would expect to see with the latest firmware:

Main Update Contents:

1. Integrated the TIDAL music service into the main unit system and mobile control app, with improved playback stability and interaction experience.
2. Optimised the UI interaction on the “Mine” page in the music player, and added favorites for albums, artists, and composers.
3. Added a Now Playing page for third-party apps, supporting display of current playback status and audio format information.
4. Added year-based grouping in the music player.
5. Added a Favourites shortcut on the home screen, allowing users to view personal favorites in the local music library.
6. Added a sample rate switching delay option in the optical, coaxial, and USB audio output settings to prevent popping noise from an external DAC when switching tracks.
7. Added system languages for more regions.
8. Optimised overall system stability.
9. Optimised system control response speed.
10. Optimised the latency of same-screen interactive control and the clarity of mirrored screen display in the mobile control app.
11. Optimised Qobuz Connect device discovery speed.
12. Fixed the issue where Spotify Connect could not discover the device in certain scenarios.
13. Fixed the issue where the playback screen information did not match the actual playback content during Qobuz Connect playback.
14. Fixed crash issues during music playback (including when playing M4A files) and when using certain third-party apps.
15. Added portrait-mode display for third-party apps in the mobile control app’s same-screen interaction feature.
16. Fixed inaccurate VU meter display and the issue where the output sample rate on the third-party app playback page did not update in a timely manner.
17. Fixed additional known issues and improved overall system stability.

Our dp Smartcontroller app for both iOS and Android has also received a significant improvement:

1. Integrate the TIDAL music service and optimize playback stability and interaction experience.
2. Music player: Added album, artist, and composer favorites to the “My” page.
3. Music player: Added functions related to classification by era.
4. Adjusted the volume control function, and removed digital audio output-related controls from “Settings.”
5. Fixed the issue where no information was displayed on the Now Playing page after switching music streaming playback in a third-party app.
6. Fixed other known issues.

For Android users, please scan the QR available from the main screen of the DMP-A1 once the firmware has been updated.  Please go to Settings/Network/Phone control and scan the code.  iOS users will have their app updated automatically from the APP Store.
